A small, quiet RSS reader

For people who miss reading on the internet.

I made Spoonfed because every reader I tried turned a nice list of subscriptions into another inbox to feel behind on.

It gives you one thing to read at a time. No unread count. No algorithm. No pressure to catch up.

Slow Reads

The case for owning your reading list again

Social feeds optimize for engagement, not understanding. The result is a diet of takes that are hot, abundant, and forgotten by Tuesday...

RSS never went away. It just stopped being loud about itself. Your favorite blogs, podcasts, and newsletters still publish feeds. You just need a reader that gets out of the way...

The idea is simple

A reading list should not feel like a to-do list.

You subscribe because you want to hear from someone. But the unread count climbs, the loud feeds take over, and eventually opening your reader feels like checking work email.

Spoonfed does not show you a wall of choices. It picks an article from the feeds you chose. Read it, skip it, save it, then ask for another. A quiet blog gets the same chance to appear as a busy one.

That little bit of randomness is deliberate. It makes room for the things that tend to get buried, and it lets you spend your attention reading instead of sorting.

Your Library

Keep the things you want to carry with you.

Bookmark an article, or save a passage with a note. The Library is a quiet place for the things that were worth stopping for.

If you want to share what you are reading, enable your public profile. You can share bookmarks automatically, or choose individual bookmarks and saved articles one at a time.

Your public profile has its own RSS feed, too. Share it with friends so they can follow along with the things you choose to share.
